New and improved Starbucks now open at the Ottawa Airport

The Ottawa International Airport Authority has reopened its beloved Starbucks location to the delight of passengers and employees alike.
In 2019, the Authority embarked on a multi-year terminal enhancement program which included an overhaul of the concessions program one of its pillars. SSP Canada (SSP), in parallel, became the new food and beverage master concessionaire responsible for the program’s implementation.
SSP and the Authority shared the vision to create a new footprint for the Starbucks location that had outgrown the space it had occupied for 15 years.
Due to the remarkable and steady growth of the Starbucks brand, the improved location at YOW needed to support current and anticipated demand for the next 15 years, and offer a great selection, fast service and modern innovations such as mobile ordering – a feature that will be introduced in the future.
The reconfiguration and construction of the new Starbucks has more than doubled its previous space and now includes an expanded seating area and room for an enhanced retail selection, giving it an authentic coffeehouse feel.
“We know how much our passengers and employees missed having a Starbucks at YOW, and we're thrilled to welcome it back in a refreshed and reimagined space,” said Susan Margles, President and CEO, Ottawa International Airport Authority. “This opening marks another important step in our terminal revitalization efforts, and we’re grateful to SSP Canada and all project partners for their commitment to enhancing the passenger experience at YOW. Whether it’s a pre-flight coffee or a mid-shift pick-me-up, the new Starbucks is already a hit.”
“We’re thrilled to reopen Starbucks, marking another step forward in our commitment to enhancing the food and beverage options at YOW,” said Bob Stanton, SSP Canada Senior Vice President of Business Development. “Starbucks has long been a favourite among locals and visitors alike. It represents more than convenience—it's about providing passengers with a familiar brand that consistently provides quality coffee and snacks that they can take on their journey.”
“We’re proud to unveil our newly renovated Starbucks at Ottawa International Airport (YOW),” said Carey Sukman, Starbucks National Account Executive. “Thoughtfully redesigned for comfort and connection, this refreshed space is ready to welcome travellers and airport staff alike. A huge thank you to our partners at SSP, the design and construction teams, and the Airport Authority for bringing this vision to life.
