Porter takes off with new service between Ottawa and Deer Lake

Porter Airlines is inaugurating service between Ottawa International Airport (YOW) and Deer Lake Regional Airport (YDF) today, becoming the only airline to connect the two destinations with non-stop flights. The seasonal route starts with four weekly roundtrips and ends in early September.
The Embraer E195-E2 aircraft used for these flights carries up to 132 passengers, and with a two-by-two configuration, there are no middle seats on any flight. All of Porter’s E195-E2s also have free, fast WiFi available for everyone.
On every flight, passengers enjoy Porter’s signature service, including complimentary wine and beer served in glassware and premium snacks. PorterReserve passengers enjoy extra legroom and priority boarding, all available à la carte to PorterClassic passengers.
The new flights have direct connections to Toronto-City, Toronto-Pearson, Hamilton, Calgary and Edmonton.
Summer in the nation’s capital offers outdoor festivals, biking and strolling along the Rideau Canal, countless tours of museums and galleries, the historic Byward Market, and even more to explore.
Surrounded by lakes, rivers, and mountains, Deer Lake offers endless outdoor activities, including Gros Morne National Park’s renowned landscapes and hiking trails. Canadians have unlimited possibilities when planning their summer travels.
The route complements Porter’s existing Deer Lake service from Halifax and Toronto.
Flights are available for booking at www.flyporter.com.
