Ottawa International Airport Authority enters into an agreement with Uber Canada

Published on September 27, 2016

With the City of Ottawa regulating the private transportation company industry, the Ottawa International Airport Authority has entered into an agreement with Uber Canada to provide pick-up and drop-off services at the airport. The start date for service at the airport will coincide with the issuance of the necessary license by the City of Ottawa.

“This move is in response to customer demand” said Mark Laroche, Airport Authority President and CEO. He continued, “with the City of Ottawa’s new regulation that permits private transportation companies to operate, the airport is now in a position to offer it to customers who request it. Like other international airports in North America, we offer multiple transportation options for our customers to get to and from the airport, including taxi, personal vehicles with on-site parking, private shuttles, public transportation and PTCs.  There is no reason why we wouldn’t allow Uber to operate here if they agree to terms and conditions that are consistent with other concession operators and service providers”.
