The opening of Zak’s Diner on Wednesday, March 25 completed the overhaul of YOW+ master food concession pillar.

Zak’s provides YOW travellers with a true taste of Ottawa, bringing its renowned diner classics such as all-day breakfast, poutines and milkshakes right to the boarding gate! The restaurant is located post-security in the Canada/International gate area, near Gate 24.

This final pillar was one of the four launched in 2019 as part of the Authority’s YOW+ terminal enhancement program to enhance the passenger experience.

The program included: 

• the relocation and modernization of the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority's Canada/International security screening checkpoint (2020)
• the completion of the Airport O-Train station (2024)
• the recent opening of the ALT Hotel (February 2026)
• the opening of new concessions (Bridgehead, Canal Market Hall, The Locks, Maison de la Presse, No Boundaries, Subway, Urban Crave) and updated concessions (Tim Hortons, Relay, iStore)

With all of these phases complete, YOW has repositioned itself as a dynamic, modern international airport terminal for many years to come!
