Bomb threat at the Ottawa Airport

The Ottawa International Airport Authority confirms that the Ottawa International Airport dealt with a bomb threat.
Earlier this morning, NAV CANADA and YOW were informed of threats targeting NAV CANADA facilities, as well as a specific arriving flight at YOW.
After conducting a threat assessment with the appropriate authorities and out of an abundance of caution, the Airport Authority made the decision to relocate passengers from the vicinity of the gate where the flight in question was already parked after landing safely. As a matter of standard operating procedure and in the interest of the safety and security of all passengers and employees, and a sweep of the terminal and aircraft was conducted by the Authority’s Canine Unit. The sweep of airport, aircraft and NAV CANADA facilities determined that no threat existed, and passengers and staff were permitted to return to the evacuated area.
We would like to thank the Ottawa Police Service for their assistance in resolving this matter.
While disruptions were minimal, flight schedules may continue to be impacted, and as such, we recommend that passengers check the status of their flight before travelling to the airport.
