The Ottawa International Airport Authority will be conducting its annual security exercise on airport property on Wednesday, May 13, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

This exercise will test the Airport Emergency Plan and supporting structure. It’s an opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness of communications and cooperation between participants, to ensure the safety and security of passengers, the public and employees during a real incident.

First responders and campus partners will participate in the event.

Members of the public and passengers may see emergency vehicles and activity related to the exercise but should not be alarmed.

The exercise will not be open to media participation.

Transport Canada requires airports to conduct full-scale exercises each year. The Authority plans safety and security scenarios in alternating years.
