A transformational year: Ottawa Airport Authority reports 2025 results

The Ottawa International Airport Authority reported strong revenue and passenger growth in 2025 at its Annual Public Meeting today.
A total of 4.9 million passengers travelled through YOW during the year, representing an increase of 6% over 2024. Breaking it down by segment, 3.7 million passengers flew within Canada, 0.7 million passengers travelled to/from the U.S., and 0.5 million passengers travelled internationally. Year over year, domestic traffic grew by 6%, thanks to several new routes added during the year. While transborder (U.S.) traffic started the year strong, geopolitical and socioeconomic headwinds affected demand later in the year, resulting in a 2% decline. The impressive 12% growth in international traffic is attributable to Air Canada’s reinstated service to London-Heathrow, Air France’s continued service to Paris-Charles de Gaulle, and sunseekers choosing Caribbean holiday destinations.
The Authority generated $162.1 million in revenues, which matched last year’s results. Earnings before depreciation totalled $39.9 million and after depreciation, $8.9 million, compared to $45.8 million and $16 million, respectively, in 2024. Lower figures are attributed, again, to geopolitical and socioeconomic conditions throughout the year.
“2025 was a transformational year for the Authority, marked by new leadership and a renewed strategic plan,” said Bonnie Boretsky, Chair of the Airport Authority’s Board of Directors. “I want to commend the team for delivering impressive results in a year shaped by unexpected challenges across the industry.”
“2025 was a year of strong momentum for YOW, with continued growth in passengers strengthened partnerships, and important investments in passenger experience, despite geopolitical and economic pressures beyond our control. I’m particularly proud of our team’s dedication to delivering safe, efficient operations every day,” said Susan Margles, President and CEO of the Airport Authority. “As we look ahead, we remain focused on thoughtful, sustainable growth, advancing our strategic priorities, and building an airport that continues to reflect and serve the needs of our region with excellence.”
