System Administrator
The Ottawa International Airport Authority is accepting applications for a System Administrator position.
Reporting to the Manager, Corporate IT Systems and Security, this role will be responsible for management and enhancement to the common use passenger process systems and systems used internally by the Ottawa International Airport Authority’s (“Authority”).
They are responsible for the effective management of information technology (IT) services and support across the organization. They serve as technical experts for the development, implementation, management, and support of systems and networks. They develop plans, carry out complex assignments, and develop new methods and approaches in many IT specialties. They evaluate new and enhanced approaches to deliver IT services; test and optimize the functionality of systems, networks, and data; and define technical requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Management of Access Control, Authorization and Authentication Systems and Services in Windows Server and Cloud Environments;
- Perform the maintenance, administration and asset management of the Authority’s parking systems equipment including server hardware, software, system hardware, and all related technologies.
- Perform the maintenance, administration, and asset management of the Airport Authority’s Common Use Systems (e.g., baggage, displays, kiosks etc.)
- Controls and administers to Microsoft environment, including the MS Teams application and MS Teams infrastructure;
- Designs, implements, and supports Single Sign On (SSO) Integration for third party cloud applications;
- Designs, implements, and supports the folder and permission structure for OneDrive;
- Monitors and implements M365 and other cloud monitoring tools to ensure the integrity and availability of the Authority’s cloud deployments;
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware/software applications in a multiple-server, network environment;
- Analyze system security risks, vulnerabilities and implement fixes to mitigate these risks;
- Diagnose and provide solutions to computer problems, workstations, fileservers, communication servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and other connectivity related equipment;
- Conduct system reviews and investigations as required;
- Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts;
- Create as built documentation as required;
- Develop, implement, and maintain IT operational plans for the Authority’s users;
- Contribute to the development of a Disaster Recovery plan for the Authority;
- Ensure maintenance agreements for hardware and software are planned for and maintained;
- Act as a technical contact for outside vendors as required;
- Support hardware and software purchases, licensing, and inventory in accordance with the overall IT process;
- Provide resolution to escalated help desk service requests for Authority users promptly.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS :
- University degree or College diploma in Computer Technology, Computer Science or in a related discipline OR a combination of relevant education and a minimum of three (3) years’ related experience;
- Extensive practical experience with information technology tools and process automation technologies;
- Previous experience working with SharePoint;
- Demonstrated project management/planning experience; and
- Excellent interpersonal;
- Excellent communication and written skills in English.
ASSETS :
- MS 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate; MS Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate; MS Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate; and/or MS Certified: Azure Administrator Associate certifications;
- Leadership experience
- Project Management experience; and
- Bilingualism (English and French).
ABOUT THE POSITION :
Salary
$85,799.00 to $96,980.00 per year in accordance with the current Collective Agreement (July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2024 rates) and based on a work week of 37.5 hours.
