Student, Information Technology

The Ottawa International Airport Authority (Authority) is accepting applications for a Student, Information Technology (IT) position.

Reporting to the Manager, IT Compliance, the student will participate in IT support workflows, and have the opportunity to learn about:

  • IT environment that supports both Authority business and airport operations; and
  • Systems administration, support and troubleshooting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Monitor service request queues
  • Respond to tickets submitted by users
  • Respond to system alerts
  • Respond to incidents
  • Maintaining hardware and software
  • Deploying new technology
  • Assist with IT inventory
  • Problem-solving IT issues
  • Assist with change management

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS 

  • EDUCATION
    • Post-secondary student enrolled in Computer Engineering or Information Technology program (1st or 2nd year)
  • EXPERIENCE
    • Good understanding of IT best practices
    • Strong technology troubleshooting skills
    • Good time management in an environment with frequently changing issues, internal/external pressures and deadlines
  • SKILLS:
    • Be able to work collaboratively in a team environment
    • Be flexible and adaptable
    • Possess sound problem-solving skills
    • Be self-motivated
    • Be detail-oriented and organized
    • Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive and/or confidential information
  • LANGUAGE
    • Excellent communication skills in English
